The Lake Stevens High School Key Club was honored with Sherwood’s Volunteer of the Year Award at their annual dinner auction at Comcast Arena on October 27, 2011 for their work with the Tech Step Program.
Local Key Club volunteered over 100 hours during their early release Fridays helping to develop adapted books for children and adults. Over the course of the 2010-2011 school year, more than 10 Key Club members participated in this service project and will continue to support this program throughout the 2011-2012 school year.
Sherwood Community Services TechSTEP is a support, education and training program. Their services aim at helping parents, caregivers and professionals assess assistive technology needs for people of all ages. Their goal is to promote independence and help make people’s everyday lives easier. They also provide innovative assistive technology resources and training in an effort to meet the needs of our community.
