Ben Clark

Ben Clark’s parents, Steve and Beth Adolphsen, are sponsoring a $500 scholarship through the Lake Stevens Education Foundation.

The Ben Clark Memorial Scholarship is available to Lake Stevens High School 2012 graduating students.  The selection criterion focuses primarily on a student’s service to others rather than being exclusively based on academic performance.
The recipient‘s dedication to serving a variety of organizations or individuals will be given special consideration.

This scholarship is for those who choose to go above and beyond the minimum LSSD community service requirement and for those that see a need and extend themselves for the betterment of their community.

Clark grew up in the Lake Stevens School District and was well liked.  He was funny, smart, energetic and an all-around great young man.  He could bring a smile to friends and family with his sense of humor.

He was always willing to step up and do things for others.  Although he completed his community service requirements by the beginning of his junior year, he continued to volunteer for various events and organizations.  He accumulated more than 140 community service hours for graduation.  At Clark’s Celebration of Life, his classmates repeatedly told stories about his ability to reach out to others and do something because he saw a need.

The Ben Clark Memorial Scholarships will continue to be available in following years thanks to the support of Clark’s family and friends.  If you would like to donate to the scholarship, please contact Lake Stevens Education Foundation at 425-334-0691 or info@LKStevensEF.org.

For additional information about the scholarship, please contact LSHS Career Center Kim LaFortune (kim_lafortune@lkstevens.wednet.edu) or LSEF Scholarship Chair Christine Pfiester at 425-346-5933 (cscarp@hotmail.com).  Applications will be available March 1 at the LSHS Career Center and online www.LkStevensEF.org.
