Cancer touches everyone at some time throughout their lives, whether they themselves are diagnosed with a form of this terrible disease or if it is someone they love.
While these are tough times for those going through treatment, relationships can become stronger.
“At times of stress and loss, bonds can be formed that last forever. We would like to celebrate one of those bonds, by having a wedding at Relay For Life Lake Stevens,” Kim Demary, Relay for Life of Lake Stevens event chair said.
They want to hear your love story. Did you meet while your parents were in treatment? Did you meet at Relay? Did you meet at the Cancer center while volunteering? Has cancer affected your life in some other way?
If your love bloomed while cancer tried to take away HOPE, Relay wants to provide you with a wedding to remember.
All you have to do is write your story in 500 words or less explaining the following:
How you met; How Cancer has affected your life; What this wedding would mean for you; Why you Relay?
All entries must be received by March 15, 2012 and the winner will be announced on April 1, 2012.
Relay for Life of Lake Stevens and their donors will provide the Officiant, a photographer and photos, a cake and sparkling cider, family reception area, a Relay wedding themed lap and a video of the ceremony.
If the winner would like they will also include bridal hair and makeup and the bridal flowers.
The happy couple will provide the Marriage License and any personal items such as the rings.
The wedding will take place on the track at Lake Stevens High School on Saturday, May 19 during Relay for Life Lake Stevens. Time to be determined.
All entries will be judged by an independent panel of judges. Names will not be given to the judges until a winning essay has been chosen. By entering you are giving Relay For Life Lake Stevens permission to use your name and likeness.
