Eagle Scout Kyle McCroskey.

Lake Stevens resident Kyle McCroskey earned his Eagle Scout ranking. McCroskey’s Eagle Scout project was for the Lake Stevens Fire Department Station 83 out in Machias.

Station 83 was in need of a new flagpole; the prior flagpole that was on top of the fire station was hard to access and was broken. McCroskey contacted the Lake Stevens Fire Department Administration about the project. McCroskey loved the idea and went to work designing the new area for the flagpole, the construction took two full weekends.

Family and friends from Troop 42 and Mike Frymire the head of maintenance from Lake Stevens Fire Department helped with the project. On June 13, 2011 there was a formal dedication ceremony for the new flagpole at station 83. It was dedicated in recognition of the Lake Stevens Fire Department’s brave men and women who  serve and protect.

McCroskey is a tenth grader at Lake Stevens High School, his interests outside of scouts and high school include swimming for the school team and volunteering with the Washington Special Oympics swimming and basketball teams.

McCroskey had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor on February 25, 2012 at the Lake Stevens Fire Department Conference Center.
