American Legion Post 181 was joined by a local scout troop on Flag Day, June 14 where they retired over 325 flags.
This is the 11th flag retirement ceremony performed by Post 181. So far, they have retired almost 4,000 flags.

Transformed mailboxes, where old and tattered flags can be deposited, can be found downtown in front of the War Memorial and in front of Bartell Drugs in Frontier Village.

Post 181 has also been instrumental in helping neighboring communities initiate or enhance their flag retirements, communities including Marysville, Monroe and Arlington.
The next flag retirement ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 9, the Sunday nearest Pearl Harbor Day.
