Puget Sound Blood Center is fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteer donors who regularly take time out of their schedule to donate the gift of life.  They are heroes in our community. Summer activities such as travel, visits with out-of-town guests and other activities can sometimes prevent our usual donors from making their regular visits.  But the need for blood is constant.

So we would like to make a special request to those who have never donated blood before to become a hero too and donate blood this summer.``

New donors are important to our community.  It takes 900 people, registering every weekday, to keep our community’s blood supply at stable levels.  `

Each blood donation can potentially save three lives.  Blood donation not only helps those who have suffered trauma, they also help those with cancer, surgery patients, premature babies and others who cannot live without the support of volunteer blood donors.

Please consider joining the team of dedicated volunteer donor heroes today.
Locally, a blood drive will be held at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, on Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  All who are able are encouraged to donate.

Donors must be 18 or older (16 or 17 with Blood Center parental permission form), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.

To schedule a donation appointment, contact Howard Espeseth, at 425-334-1894;  hae2008@live.com.
