The children at Lake Stevens Little School have much to be proud of.  They have successfully sponsored a child from Holt International Adoption Agency through a new program that launched January of 2012 at Lake Stevens Little School called Kids Helping Kids.

By teaming up with Holt, the kids have changed the life of an orphaned, abandoned, or vulnerable child while that child awaits their Forever Family.

The combined preschool classes at Lake Stevens Little School have sponsored a child from Southeast Asia named Skymas and are now on their way to helping another.  Skymas was in need of financial support until her birth mother could find a job and resume her full time care.  `

The preschoolers earned money helping around the house and often just shared money that they received from gifts that were given to them.  The sponsor amount needed for Skymas was $30 a month.
The children were able to raise that money each month and even a bit more to help over the summer months when the preschool was not in session.

The children got some very exciting news when school resumed in September! Skymas was able to go home to her birth mother who found a new job which also provided a place for her and Skymas to live. The update also informed the kids that Skymas would be attending a preschool this coming year.

They had a great school celebration to celebrate Skymas’ homecoming.
The students also helped a young boy named Madisson who lives in the Philippines.  He is five years old and he has suffered from Primary Complex, also known as Tuberculosis in children.

He needed additional support to help him catch up on the lessons that he missed during his time of sickness.
Madisson’s goals have been reached and he has graduated from Holt.

Now Lake Stevens Little School is welcoming Berhanu, a  six-year-old boy from the poorest parts of Ethiopia.  The preschoolers are anxious to get to work helping him.
