Erik Linder and Rickie Taylor of Lake Stevens.
Erik Linder of Lake Stevens and Rickie Taylor of Edmonds, both 12, are competitive ballroom DanceSport champions who will be attending the World Team camp at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York.
The invitation was extended to America’s top ballroom dance couples after competing at the USA DanceSport National Championships in Los Angeles this past April.
This is an honorable opportunity for this young ballroom dance couple to meet with and perform for International Olympic officials and athletes and to train under Olympic trainers as well as receiving special training from world class champions. The training camp will take place at the US Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York, May 22 to 26, 2013.
Linder and Taylor hit it off together when they were paired up at the young age of four in a ballroom dance class for kids. They quickly discovered their talent for ballroom dancing and soon started competing at local competitions before winning their first national gold medal at age seven.
This was followed by four national titles over the next several years, winning the first ever “Carrie Ann Inaba Star Quality Excellence Award” as well as dancing on the Oprah Winfrey Show, America’s Got Talent, performing on Dancing With The Stars and competing internationally.
They will be performing at a fundraiser show Friday May 17 at 7:30 p.m. For details www.firstclassballroom.com.
