This City of Lake Stevens could have a new police chief soon. They are holding interviews soon along with a public meeting.
The Lake Stevens Police Department has been without a police chief since November, when Randy Celori left.
Last winter, Lake Stevens city officials accepted around 20 applications for the position, but none of the applicants were right for the city.
The job opening was posted again this summer and the six finalists will be interviewed by a panel on August 12. The panel includes Lake Stevens residents, employees, police members and local police chiefts.
Following the interview the candidates for the position will be attending the City Council work session at 5:30 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District administration building.
The public in invited to watch as councilmembers ask questions of the candidates.
