Local youth will be going to neighborhoods within city limits and Lake Stevens grocery stores from now until August 13 to collect non-perishable food for the Lake Stevens Food Bank.

Several years ago a major airline discovered that leaving its planes in the natural aluminum color saved money. It takes 690 pounds of paint for a 747. This cost the company $20,000 a year per plane in fuel just to fly the paint through the skies. By replacing the coffee makers aboard their planes with a lighter model they could save $100,000 a year.
