The Lake Stevens Rowing Club was invited to participate in this year’s Windermere Cup.

The Lake Stevens Rowing Club once again showcased their well-rounded youth program by excelling at the 40th Annual Brentwood Regatta hosted on Vancouver Island, B.C. earning their first invitation to the University of Washington’s prestigious Windermere Cup to kick off the 2010 boating season.

Leading the way was the Girls Junior B Lightweight Four with Sarah Brady, Kathryn Danielson, Emily Moseley, Katie Pellegrini, and coxswain Rachel Slaker taking home Gold.

Taking Silver in the Girls Junior Novice Quad were newcomers Emily Moseley, Katie McNiel, Jackie Barnes, Katie Pellegrini, with Sarah Brady coxing.

Earning an invitation to Seattle’s revered Windermere Cup that opened the 2010 Boat Season by taking Bronze at Brentwood in the Boys Junior A Quad was Ryan Kessler, David Barr, Brad Dickson, and Andrew McCrea, with veteran coxswain Kathryn Danielson.

This was LSRC’s first invitation to the Windermere Cup which up until this season was exclusive to the larger Eight’s.
This demonstrates LSRC’s continued dominance in the midsize—smaller boat sculling events since the Juniors program was first established in 2004.

The competition from the larger Seattle clubs was stiff, but the boys kept pace with the leaders proving themselves worthy of the invitation and proudly representing Lake Stevens in this esteemed event.
