The Lake Stevens Vikings Volleyball team started last week with a loss to Monroe (1-3), but ended their week with a win against Arlington (3-0).

On Monday, Oct. 10 the Vikings started slow in their first set against the Bearcats (11-25).  By their second set, the Vikings were rallying for a win, but missed by two points (23-25).

In the third set, the Vikings came out for a win and defeated Monroe 25-21.  Despite all the Vikings’ efforts, they slipped in the fourth match to a 21-25 loss.

Junior Outside Hitter McKayla Huntley, and Senior OP Hitter Cecelia Licciardi provided 11 and 12 kills respectively.
Wednesday, Oct. 12 was a different game and different outcome.  The Arlington Eagles didn’t have a chance against the Vikings as they beat the Eagles 3-0 (25-20, 25-12 and 25-16).

Early on, the Eagles were unmatched against the Vikings and were handed a 25-20 defeat in the first set.  As the second set began, the Eagles were unable to get the kill against the Vikings blockers and the Vikings shut them down 25-12.
The third set proved to be just as difficult for the Eagles as the Vikings beat them 25-16.

Throughout the night, Senior OP Hitter Cecelia Licciardi pounded the Eagles with 10 kills, Senior Libero Nicole Carroll had 12 digs, Junior Outside Hitter McKayla Huntley had 6 kills and Senior Setter Blake Lamberty, set up her hitters with 25 assists.

Currently the Lake Stevens Vikings are 4-2 in League play, 6-4 Overall and are in third place in Wesco 4A North.
