After losing to the 3A Glacier Peak football in their first game this season, the Lake Stevens Vikings showed that they are a team to watch out for beating the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks 45-21 at last Friday’s first game at the Vikes stadium.
Although it may be hard to get passed last year’s QB/receiver team of Jake Nelson and Christian Gasca, Junior quarterback Gavin O’Neil and senior receiver Conner Coleman connected on several throws and will be a team to watch this year.
Coleman caught six passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns
One of those passes also came from Freshman quarterback Jacob “Skinny” Eason who threw 41-yards to Coleman.
The Vikings had 3 points in the first quarter with 14 points in each of the remaining three quarters.
Marysville-Pilchuck scored 3, 3, 8, and 7.
The Vikings plays Friday at Oak Harbor. The game starts at 7 p.m.
