Aanstad, former LSHS athlete wins NCAA title

LSHS 2007 graduate Brittany Aanstad threw the javelin over 168 feet to take the 2012 NCAA Division II title in the javelin at Seattle Pacific University in September.

Aanstad broke her own record by 6 feet and a quarter century SPU record of 163 feet, 6 inches.
She also earned the SPU Ron Grady Athlete of the Year and GNAC Female Track Athlete of the Year.
As a junior at Lake Stevens High School she earned the state crown at the 4A state meet by throwing the javelin 141 feet 4 inches. She won again in her senior year with a throw of 139 feet 11 inches.
