With America’s economy in the tank, political rancor in our nation’s capitol, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the senseless killings of five police officers in our state, we needed a bit of good news to jolt us into the Christmas spirit.

The editorial staff at the Lake Stevens Journal have chosen the following individuals as the Most Inspiring People of 2009 for their efforts and work in the Lake Stevens and Granite Falls communities. These three men have and will continue to make a difference in the lives of the citizens in these communities.
