Forest Road Projects Mean Local Jobs for WA
Seattle, WA – It’s been a bumpy road getting federal dollars to fix all those bumpy roads in the Washington backcountry – but the U.S. Forest Service will spend $7 million here this year as part of the Legacy Roads and Trails Remediation program. It represents a rare funding increase for forest road repair and decommissioning, and means work opportunities in many small towns as well as environmental benefits.
