The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and other police agencies in Washington worked extra traffic safety patrols March 5 through March 18 during a Saint Patrick’s Day “Drive Hammered, Get Nailed” campaign that nabbed more than 1,000 impaired drivers.

Drivers in Washington state can keep studded tires on their vehicles until April 16 this year, the state Department of Transportation has decided.
