This is the ninth year for Aquafest’s 3-on-3 basketball, which will take place on Saturday, July 28.

Feeling in shape? The Quadrathon on Sunday, July 29 at 8 a.m. includes a 300-yard swim, five-mile bike ride, three-mile run, and one-mile paddle-boat race.

SEATTLE – Washington continues to be a hotbed for auto thieves in spite of a slight 1.6 percent overall decline in the number of auto thefts last year, as both Yakima and Seattle rose higher in the national theft-rate rankings, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s annual Hot Spots Report released this week.

Remember that intersection closure we’ve been talking about? The one on SR 9/SR 92 near Lake Stevens? Well, the closure schedule has changed. Again. And hopefully for the last time.

American Legion Post 181 was joined by a local scout troop on Flag Day, June 14 where they retired over 325 flags. This is the 11th flag retirement ceremony performed by Post 181. So far, they have retired almost 4,000 flags.

Olivia Follett, who is only seven years old, wanted to help feed hungry kids so she has been busy cutting out dragonfly stickers and selling them to people for five cents each.

North Cascades Crew, located on Lake Stevens, attended the USRowing Northwest Masters Regional Championship Regatta held in Klamath Falls, Oregon June 15 through 17.

The rain was coming down in droves on Saturday afternoon, June 23, as over 100 youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints laid beauty bark and planted trees at Strawberry Fields in Marysville in an effort to create a walking path to the Off-Leash Dog Park.

When that little group of Separatists left England for the New World in a little boat called the Mayflower, they landed at Plymouth Rock in a territory that would eventually become known as the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Colony became, obviously, the seedbed for the nation whose birthday we celebrate next week.

The Washington Aerospace Scholars program is pleased to announce that Nicholas Alldredge and Alan Brazelton from Lake Stevens High School will be participating in one of the four WAS Summer Residency sessions held in June and July at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.
