Due to the rising costs associated with the Lake Stevens School District’s athletics programs, and the statewide educational budget reductions, the School Board has approved an Athletics Participation Fee. Parents of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch and have a current form on file with the district office are eligible to pay a reduced participation fee. A copy of the verification letter must be enclosed with the reduced athletic fee payment. If you wish to apply for free and reduced lunch, please pick up an application at any school, the School District office, or online on the Lake Stevens District website at: www.lkstevens.wednet.edu/lunch/reduced.html. Athletic Participation fees are set for each sport as follows: High School Grades 9 – 12: $80 per sport. Middle School Grades 7 – 8: $40 per sport. For those who qualify for the Free and reduced lunch program the participation rate is reduced by half. The fee must be paid when the athlete makes the team and before the first competition. Refunds will be provided if a student quits a team due to illness or injury prior to the first contest, or the student quits due to the family moving prior to the first contest. No refunds will be approved for students who are dropped for athletic code violations or quit after the first interscholastic contest.
