The Lake Stevens Rowing Club lead the way for Lake Stevens rowers at the US Rowing Youth Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sophomores Brad Dickson and Drew McCrea with the Lake Stevens Rowing Club (LSRC) leading a contingent of Lake Stevens rowers won bronze medals on Sunday, June 14 at the US Rowing Youth Nationals Regatta in the Men’s 2x Sculling event. Under long-time LSRC Juniors Head Coach Brian Wagner’s guidance McCrea and Dickson maintained LSRC’s winning tradition of qualifying at least one crew for Nationals every year since its junior program began. McCrea’s and Dickson’s performance also brings Wagner’s personal tally of medals at this national regatta to three with his previous LSRC crews having won silver and gold in the same event. The result adds a fine, finishing touch to a successful 2009 junior spring season where the LSRC junior crew also captured two gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the Northwest’s regional regatta.
