The Lake Volleyball Club collected candy, toys, baskets, plastic eggs and Easter grass to donate to the Lake Stevens Family Center. The supplies will help the Family Center offer Easter baskets to needy families around the area.
Megan and Sarah Gregarek had an idea to help children less fortunate in the Lake Stevens area.
They were aware the Family Center was collecting candy, plastic eggs, toys, and Easter baskets so all children would have a visit from the Easter Bunny.
They contacted their Volleyball coach at Lake Volleyball Club, Rachelle Manske and proposed their idea.
“May we ask Lake Volleyball Club to collect candy, baskets and toys for the less fortunate kids in our area?,” they asked.
Coach Manske loved the idea.
The Gregareks sent out requests to their teammates. The response was fantastic.
Their triplet brother Sam, also made a request to his Boy Scout Troop 42. They collected more candy and toys.
When Megan and Sarah were asked what they thought of the response they said, “It’s amazing what kids can accomplish, you just have to put your ideas into action.”
The candy, toys, baskets, plastic eggs, and Easter grass were delivered to the Lake Stevens Family Center in downtown Lake Stevens.
