Three Lake Stevens students have been selected to participate at 2010 Evergreen Girls State held at Central Washington University, June 13 through 19.
Meaghan Hess is an experienced Lacrosse player and statewide leader in the sport, including a representative on the Washington State Lacrosse Chapter. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Robyn Lucas is involved in several Lake Stevens School activities including Big Viking/Little Viking, Viking soccer, manager for boys soccer and is involved with Young Life.
Dani Quade is a member of the swim team, debate club, Oprah Club and German Club. Quade also volunteers with Teens Against Tobacco Use, Relay for Life, Walk for Breast Cancer and WPUS.
These three young women are all juniors and will join over 250 girls from around the state in a variety of activities including mock trials, solving city/county/state issues, debate at legislative level, as well as elections to city, county and state leadership positions.
Junior class girls are selected by the American Legion Post 181 Auxiliary through applications each year to be a citizen for this week-long leadership program focusing on self-governing and the privileges and responsibilities of American citizenship.
