Jill Knutson, Lake Stevens’ professional waterskier has been skiing local lakes for years. Now she is giving back to the community that has been supporting her.

Knutson took part in ‘A Day to Remember,’ an event sponsored by In His Wakes. In His Wakes is a non-profit ministry that uses water sports to share the love of Christ.

The non-profit travels nationally and internationally encouraging people of all backgrounds to 'get off the dock' and take to the waters of life with passion, purpose, hope, and confidence.

In July, Knutson hosted 'A Day to Remember'  with  In His Wakes. The event took place at Hilltop Lake, Knutson’s private lake in Marysville, where she trains daily.

Knutson fundraised for the event so that every child and family could attend for free.
This year the event focused on kids with special needs. Over 25 kids with special needs and their siblings were in attendance.

Rebecca DeFrang and her daughter who has a disability were at the event.

“It was amazing to see my daughter ski. She was so proud.  This was an incredible opportunity for kids with special needs and we are so grateful we were able to attend,” DeFrang said.
